Several recent commercial
enquiries for different reasons led to nothing. But Amazon Books came
through and here are some images from 24th June - Another dull and
misty summer's day... here Depicted are: The new
bus station development at Milton keynes, cars parked on Bedford disused
airfield, the Sikh Temple in Bedford, The new housing development south of
Broughton in Milton Keynes, John Lewis new distribution Centre on A421 Milton
Keynes, Amazon Books Junction 13 M1. Flight Training Just a few hours of
instruction lately although during a stalling exercise in the benign Cessna
150 I experienced the not so common sudden wing drop that woke me up! A
13 pence +VAT rise in Avgas has done nothing to inspire me. Now at over
£1.70 per litre, fuel prices are having a serious effect on the motivation of
many pilots that are supposed to fly for pleasure let alone for money. My flying on hold now until end of
September. |
Sea and Sailing for
Summer 2008 This summer the intention
was to spend a considerable amount of time aboard in decent weather! I finally
got to my little boat for 21st June, the longest day, only to listen to
Yarmouth Coastguard announcing gale warnings that also spread most of the way
round the UK. I recorded 49 knot gusts (60 mph) before I left on the
Sunday expecting summer to arrive in July.
After and during a short cruise of 192 nm that was finally made during
early August we still had high winds. It was 52 knots wind recorded but
fortunately we were safely in port at Lowestoft by then! Lowestoft Lifeboat Day

heavy snow showers and winds from the north at 20 knots, gusting over 30
knots at times. It was teatime before it was safe to proceed. The
reflection on the cloud is from a GPS for use in case of whiteout or nav
equipment failure being close to the Heathrow zone. Ferry
